Fresh Servant Group CEO Sami Haapasalmi will also take up the role of CEO of Bosphorus AB on 1 October 2026. At the same time, the transition period following the acquisition completed in December 2025 will come to an end, and Bosphorus founder and long-standing CEO Serdar Öztenar will step down from his role in the company. The new leadership arrangement will support Bosphorus’s growth and strengthen its nationwide position in Sweden.
To implement its growth plan, Bosphorus has strengthened its organisation in recent months with several key appointments. Eyüp Yilmaz has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Mats Hallstensson Chief Commercial Officer. The appointments support the company’s goal of expanding its existing retailer network and doubling or tripling its revenue in Sweden over the next few years.
Bosphorus’s growth plan is built on strong foundations. Founded in 2002, the company produces fresh salad meals, ready meals and other fresh products in Sweden. Having grown from a small family business into a significant player in the sector, Bosphorus became part of Fresh Servant Group in December 2025 as part of the Group’s internationalisation strategy.
“Looking back, what I am most proud of is the people and the company culture we have built together. Bosphorus has skilled employees, strong customer relationships and excellent prospects for continued growth as part of Fresh Servant Group. Sami knows both the food industry and the Swedish market extremely well, and I am confident that Bosphorus is in good hands,” Öztenar says.

Haapasalmi believes Bosphorus is well positioned to continue its growth.
“Bosphorus has a strong foundation for growth in Sweden. The market is growing at a double-digit rate, customer feedback is very encouraging, we have available capacity and the products are good. Our priority now is to strengthen the local team and ensure that both our direction and pace are right. At the same time, we must maintain the energy, dynamism, expertise and motivation needed to deliver on our commitments, seize emerging opportunities and create added value for customers. We also want to be our customers’ first choice in our segments in Sweden. Growth comes from doing the right things with determination and staying close to our customers,” Haapasalmi says.
“We have made good progress in close cooperation since the acquisition, and now is a natural time to move into the next phase. Serdar has done an enormous amount of work for Bosphorus. I would like to thank him warmly for building the company and for his valuable contribution throughout the smooth transition,” Haapasalmi continues.
The expertise of Fresh Servant and Bosphorus is complementary and opens up new opportunities in both the Swedish and Finnish markets. Together, the companies can achieve synergies and scale their operations by drawing on technology, sourcing, marketing, product development and other proven practices to develop even better solutions that make everyday life easier for customers and consumers.
