Fresh Servant Group is planning to reorganise the production, logistics and production planning functions at its Pedersöre (Edsevö) unit. The aim is to improve operational cost efficiency and profitability and to strengthen the Group’s competitiveness in a rapidly changing operating environment.
In recent years, the company has made significant investments in automating production and logistics at the Pedersöre unit. The latest investment is a new automated salad packaging line. The Vantaa unit became part of the Group through an acquisition on 1 October 2026. The plan aims to make full use of the investments made and strengthen cooperation between the units. As part of the plan, the company is considering reorganising all production, logistics and production planning functions at the Pedersöre unit, including the possible partial transfer of functions to the Vantaa unit and organisational development. At this stage, these are plans and alternatives that will be discussed in the negotiations before any decisions are made.
“Our operating environment is changing rapidly, and success requires us to renew ourselves proactively. We want to build an effective whole that strengthens our competitiveness and creates sustainable conditions for long-term development,” says Sami Haapasalmi, CEO of Fresh Servant Group.
The company submitted a written negotiation proposal to the employee representative on 19 October 2026 and will initiate change negotiations concerning the plans on 26 October 2026. The negotiations concern all production and logistics personnel and production planning personnel at the Pedersöre unit. A total of 260 employees are within the scope of the negotiations. The grounds for the proposed changes are production-related and financial reasons as well as the reorganisation of operations. If implemented, the plan may result in the termination of employment of up to 50 employees and/or material changes to the terms and conditions of employment. The company has not made any final decisions on the changes or their effects on personnel. The Group employs more than 700 people in Finland and Sweden.
The company will provide information on the outcome of the negotiations once they have concluded.
